Sources: Tottenham set sights on Ivan Toney as Brentford in talks over new deal
Tottenham are keeping close tabs on Brentford striker Ivan Toney as he holds talks over a new Bees contract, sources told Football Insider.
Discussions are ongoing between the west London club and the 26-year-old about a new agreement to replace his current deal – which is set to expire in the summer of 2026.
Brentford are offering Toney a £50,000-a-week contract – which would make him the highest earner at the club.
The star’s current deal is believed to be worth around £30,000-a-week following a pay hike when the Bees were promoted to the Premier League in 2021.
Toney has notched 13 goals and three assists across 19 Premier League appearances this season – and added another strike in the League Cup.
He looked set to receive a call-up to England’s squad for the World Cup last year (2022) but was pipped to the post by Newcastle hitman Callum Wilson.

The striker was charged by the FA with over 250 alleged breaches of betting rules in December, but a decision on the outcome of the allegations is yet to be made.
Toney has notched 61 goals and 20 assists in 110 games for Brentford – with 25 of those strikes coming in the Premier League.
Tottenham moved to add Arnaut Danjuma to their attacking arsenal on loan last month as Heung-min Son and Richarlison struggle for form.
Richarlison signed for a reported £60million last summer but is yet to find the net in 13 Premier League outings.
Harry Kane, who is the only Englishman to score more top-flight goals than Toney this season, is reportedly wanted by Man United as speculation over his Spurs future continues.
Antonio Conte’s side are in the fight for Champions League qualification but trail Newcastle by one point having played a game more than the Magpies.
