Sources: Chelsea have 'concrete' interest in David Raya after two offers submitted amid Jordan Pickford update
Chelsea are in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer with David Raya on their shortlist, sources have told Football Insider.
The Blues are keen to recruit a top-class keeper in the summer but face competition for the Brentford shot-stopper from Man United and other Premier League clubs.
It is believed, sources say, that the Chelsea recruitment team have a “concrete” interest in the 27-year-old and believe he is as good as United number one David de Gea.
Yassine Bonou at Seville has also been looked at but that is seen as a deal that would be difficult to pull off.
Jordan Pickford’s name has also come up in conversation but that is currently understood to be highly unlikely.
Senior keepers Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy are both contracted at Stamford Bridge until 2025 but the Blues are believed to be keen on an upgraded option.

Arrizabalaga has returned to number one at Chelsea after being replaced by Mendy under Thomas Tuchel and has started every league game since October.
Raya’s Brentford contract expires in 2024 and he is set to be the subject of widespread transfer interest from Premier League clubs in the summer.
The Spaniard has already rejected two attempts by the Bees to secure him to a longer-term deal.
As quoted by Sky Sports (10 February), Raya said he doesn’t feel it is the right time to sign a new contract.
Chelsea will face competition from Man United who are looking for a long-term replacement for De Gea.
The 32-year-old’s current contract expires in the summer.
Last week (8 February), Football Insider revealed that United are in advanced talks over a new contract with the Old Trafford star and have offered a new three-year deal at £200,000-a-week.
