'Look at Man City' - Pundit can't believe it as Raya deal all but done
Arsenal could regret spending heavily on a new goalkeeper in this transfer window.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that the Gunners should spend their money elsewhere instead of signing Brentford’s David Raya.
On Tuesday (1 August), transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Brentford keeper has reached an agreement in principle with Arsenal over personal terms.
The 27-year-old has reportedly informed the Bees that he wants to join the Gunners and talks between the clubs are now expected to accelerate it.
Raya has less than 12 months remaining on his current contract at the Brentford Community Stadium.
With a potential transfer on the cards, Agbonlahor believes Arsenal should look to strengthen the midfield instead.

“It’s very strange that Arsenal are spending £30million on a goalkeeper,” he told Football Insider’s Bailey Keogh.
“Previously at Arsenal, they had Ramsdale and Leno, who didn’t take while to losing his place and he wanted to leave.
“Look at Manchester City, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Manchester United, they don’t have two top goalkeepers.
“You only need one top goalkeeper as keepers don’t regularly get injured either, they don’t do a lot of running during games.
“So for me, it’s very strange to to even use £30 or £35 million when Arsenal need another midfielder to help with Thomas Partey in the midfield.
“Let’s not forget, goalkeepers don’t need rotating like outfield players, they get the ball to play from the back, and they don’t do a lot of running.”
