Sources: Tottenham plot Ivan Toney move amid £100m reveal
Tottenham have a strong interest in banned Brentford striker Ivan Toney and will assess a potential January move for him, sources have told Football Insider.
Spurs watched the 27-year-old closely last season and he will be firmly on their radar again when he is back available to play.
Toney, who is currently serving an eight-month suspension for breaching betting rules, has changed agents to join CAA Stellar, which represents the likes of Jack Grealish and Gareth Bale.
When Toney’s ban expires on January 16 he will have 18 months left on his Brentford contract.
He is valued by Brentford at £100m and Thomas Frank has hailed the former Newcastle forward as one of Europe’s outstanding strikers.
Tottenham are in the market for a replacement for Harry Kane but are running out of time with just days remaining in the summer window.

Spurs have made a strong start to the 2023/24 campaign under new manager Ange Postecoglou with the North London side currently sitting second in the table after an undefeated start to their season.
However, Tottenham’s depth in the striker position is lacking following Kane’s departure, with Richarlison struggling to provide goals early on in the season.
Toney scored 20 times in the Premier League in 2022/23 placing him third in the top scorer charts last season behind only Kane and Erling Haaland.
His impressive form earned him a call-up to the England team in March of this year and Toney made his Three Lions debut in a 2-0 win over Ukraine after coming off the bench to replace Kane.
