Chelsea at serious risk if they go ahead and sack Mauricio Pochettino - pundit
Chelsea are at risk of becoming a “merry go round” of managers if they sack Mauricio Pochettinio.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton said it would be disastrous for the Blues to finish in the bottom half of the table this term.
Pochettino has endured a difficult start to life at Stamford Bridge and has won just one of his opening six Premier League games in charge.
The Londoners have spent almost £1billion on transfers since the takeover by the Todd Boehly-led consortium last year but have still struggled for results.
But, Football Insider revealed (27 September) that the Blues have no plans to sack Pochettino and the manager has the full backing of the club’s board.
When asked where Chelsea will be likely to finish in the league this season, Hutton told Football Insider: “I do not see them getting top four.

“I think they are definitely a work in progress, it is going to take time. The manager needs to be given time because I think if they chop and change then it becomes a problem.
“There has been such a big overhaul in players, maybe the new guy comes in and doesn’t like them and then it just becomes a merry go round after that.
“Keep the manager there but I do not think they will get top four. Possibly in those European positions but to have two bad seasons in a row does not look good.
“They have got to start picking up asap or they are going to be in trouble. It is not going to be a relegation fight but they do not want to be in the bottom half after spending nearly £1billion.“
