Hutton points finger at four 'nervous' Rangers stars struggling to cope
Rangers defenders look “nervous” during games and are low on confidence.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers right-back Alan Hutton said the side “ran out of ideas” in Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Aberdeen.
Manager Michael Beale was sacked in the wake of a calamitous defeat to the Dons who had won just one game this season before the win over the Gers.
Rangers have now lost three of their opening seven games this season and sit third in the Scottish Premiership table, already seven points behind their Glasgow rivals Celtic.
Hutton suggested that although the result was disappointing, there were positives to take away from the game against Aberdeen.
“I think this has been a theme for a number of weeks where they create a lot of chances,” he told Football Insider.

“The opening half an hour [Abdallah] Sima has a chance, [Cyriel] Dessers has a good chance, [Jose] Cifuentes as well and they do not take them.
“Defensively they looked really nervous, all of them at the back. I think two of the goals came from a corner, they have to do better. Some of the goals I was thinking just kick it away.
“I think when your luck is down, the confidence is low and you feel the pressure from the crowd it can make it that little bit more difficult. It seemed like they ran out of ideas.
“But the one positive I would take is that they are creating opportunities, they just need to be more clinical.“
