Revealed: Liverpool doing due diligence on January Bakoyoko deal
Liverpool are one of up to five Premier League clubs to hold a concrete interest in PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko ahead of the January window, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed clubs are doing their due diligence over a potential deal ahead of the winter window.
Bakayoko chose to remain a PSV player late in the summer window following their qualification for the Champions League group stage.
Brentford looked closest to signing the winger after submitting a reported club-record bid of £34million for his services.
But Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and other top Premier League sides are ready to fight the Bees for the highly-rated Belgium international in January.
It is believed PSV could be forced to cash in on the winger if they drop out of the Champions League.

The Dutch giants have been drawn together with Arsenal, Sevilla and Lens in Group B – but could drop down to the Europa League if they finish third in the table.
Bakayoko is under contract in Eindhoven until June 2026.
He made his breakthrough in senior football last season, scoring nine goals and providing six assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.
Bakayoko has already notched five assists in eight appearances in the new 2023-24 campaign.
The winger also made his debut for the senior Belgium side earlier this year and grabbed an assist in his first international start against Azerbaijan on Saturday (9 September).
Liverpool signed Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven in December 2022, beating Premier League competition in the process.
The Dutchman, 24, has gone on to score seven goals in 30 appearances for the Reds.
