Sources: Wolves leapfrog Bournemouth in Alex Scott race after bid tabled

Wolves have the upper hand over transfer rivals Bournemouth in the race for Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott, sources have told Football Insider.

Both clubs are locked in a big battle for the 19-year-old’s signature following his stellar Championship campaign last term.

Bournemouth made the first move for Scott, launching a bid of £15million plus add-ons – which was quickly rejected by Bristol City.

Wolves have seen two bids turned down by the Robins – with the latest offer believed to be worth around £20million.

It is believed that Bristol City and chairman Jon Lansdown are keen to hold out for a fee of around £25million for their prize asset.

Both sides are inching closer to that figure – but are yet to reach a full agreement for Scott’s transfer.
