Revealed: Leeds player move collapses after dramatic Tyler Adams development

Leeds United star Tyler Adams’ move to Chelsea has collapsed even though he has already undergone a medical, sources have told Football Insider.

The United States international midfielder was all set to join the London giants as they looked to trigger his reported £20million release clause.

But the transfer has fallen through following the completion of medical tests.

This development comes as Chelsea work on sealing the British-record signing of Moises Caicedo – and are also in talks to sign Southampton star Romeo Lavia.

Adams has strong interest from other Premier League clubs including Aston Villa.

The Midlands giants have registered their interest in a deal for the former RB Leipzig star, who was relegated with Leeds at the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

Football Insider revealed earlier this month (3 August) that interested clubs Villa and Nottingham Forest have been encouraged by Adams’ progress in his recovery from a hamstring injury.

He was initially expected to be out until the end of September, but it is believed the combative midfielder could now return to action before the end of August.

Adams’ Leeds contract runs until June 2027 after joining from Leipzig last summer (2022) in a reported £20million deal.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the midfielder is keen to continue to play at the highest level after his impressive first season in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old made 26 appearances for Leeds across all competitions last season before picking up a hamstring injury which ended his season and continues to keep him on the sidelines.
