Tottenham ‘solidify’ £300m+ deal as Heung-Min Son news confirmed - expert
Tottenham have helped to grow an already-strong partnership with commercial partners AIA by making Heung-Min Son a brand ambassador.
That is the opinion of finance expert Dr Dan Plumley, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the relationship between Spurs and the Hong Kong insurance company.
Tottenham released an official announcement last Friday (13 January) stating that Son had become the first official brand ambassador of AIA’s Singapore branch.
Spurs have been partnered with AIA since 2013, signing a £320million eight-year contract extension with the company in 2019 to extend their partnership until 2028.
Just a week prior, Spurs and AIA announced that Harry Kane had also become an ambassador for the life insurance company, with the striker set to “champion the importance of health and mental wellbeing”.
Plumley believes making Son a brand ambassador is a “win-win” for all parties involved.

“Even prior to this agreement with Son becoming a brand ambassador, Tottenham have a very high proportion of fans in that market – primarily because of Son,” Plumley told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“That relationship with the fans is already existing and this will grow it further.
“It’s a great deal all around because it’s a big commercial partner and Son has a great reach in that area of the world.
“It expands the brand further and helps to solidify the relationship with the club.
“So it’s no surprise to see all parties agree to this as it’s a win-win for everyone involved.“
