Expert issues £7bn Man United prediction amid takeover twist - ‘everything now points towards…’
The Glazers will hold out for a full Man United takeover despite reports that Crystal Palace chiefs Josh Harris and David Blitzer want to complete a minority investment.
That is the opinion of finance expert Dr Dan Plumley, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the latest investment offers on the table at Old Trafford.
The Daily Mail reported last Saturday (21 January) that Crystal Palace stakeholders Harris and Blitzer are considering an offer for a minority stake in Man United.
The American duo are both 18 per cent stakeholders in Palace, and would have to sell their shares in the Eagles out of a conflict of interest should they follow through with their investment plans at Old Trafford.
Harris and Blitzer also registered their interest in Chelsea before Todd Boehly’s takeover of the Blues last year.
Plumley believes the Glazers would prefer a majority sale and a full exit from the club rather than staying as majority shareholders.

“I think this £7billion valuation of Man United – with a £2billion estimate needed to address Old Trafford – everything points towards the Glazers wanting a full takeover,” Plumley told Football Insider.
“The amount of money the club needs through investment does suggest that the Glazers will want to make a full exit and take the money from the sale.
“With Josh Harris and David Blitzer, while a minority investment hasn’t been ruled out, they’d have to sell their Crystal Palace stake out of a conflict of interest.
“The Glazers will then be weighing up their options and the offers on the table and I think they’ll definitely be leaning towards a full takeover.“
