Tottenham hit by ‘major’ transfer blow as 30-month ban confirmed - expert
The looming suspension facing Tottenham director Fabio Paratici threatens to unhinge the business model and board organisation at Spurs.
That is the opinion of finance expert Dr Dan Plumley, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about how a 30-month suspension to Paratici would affect the Tottenham boardroom.
The Guardian reported last Monday (23 January) that Tottenham are worried about their director of football Paratici being handed a worldwide ban following his involvement in the Juventus scandal.
Paratici joined Spurs in 2021 but previously worked at Juventus, where he was heavily involved in the side’s transfer business.
The Italian club were docked 15 points last week after the conclusion of an investigation into false accounting of the club’s finances.
Paratici was one of many Juventus chiefs to be handed a 30-month ban from Italian football, but under Fifa regulations, a national association can apply to extend a ban outside its own country.

Should Paratici’s ban be expanded worldwide, Plumley believes Tottenham will have to rethink their entire organisation at board level.
“It would be far from ideal for Tottenham,” Plumley told Football Insider.
“They’d have to look at alterations to their business model and how they run the club and organise things behind the scenes.
“They might need to look at bringing in new people or changing the structure to make things work.
“If a ban does transpire, it creates what is best described as an operational headache for Tottenham.
“It would not only affect the structure of the board but it could also have a major impact on their transfer business.“
