Rangers news: Fashion Sakala should start v RB Leipzig after key development - Agbonlahor
Fashion Sakala has the quality to be a “top, top player” and should start for Rangers against RB Leipzig on Thursday night (5 May), according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Sakala should start up front ahead of Kemar Roofe after his performance against Celtic.
The 25-year-old scored the Gers’ only goal as they held Celtic to a 1-1 draw at Parkhead on Sunday (1 May).
As quoted by club media today (4 May), Giovanni van Bronckhorst revealed is yet to be determined whether Roofe will be fit enough to make the squad for the Leipzig clash at Ibrox.
His side go into the game 1-0 behind on aggregate after their loss over in Germany last week (28 April).
“To be fair, I really liked Fashion Sakala against Celtic,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“Even if Roofe’s fit I would start Sakala. He’s quicker and can play in behind.
“If he gets the right coaching he’s going to be one hell of a player. He just needs the right coaching so he makes the right runs and the right decisions and he can be a top, top forward.
“There’s a big chance here for Rangers, especially when you’re playing at home with that Ibrox crowd.
“I just think Leipzig are a good team, they have got some very good players so it’s going to be tough.
“That Ibrox crowd, under the lights, means anything can happen. I wouldn’t bet against Rangers getting a result.
“1-0 is a scoreline that means Leipzig will be very wary and won’t take Rangers lightly.
“Leipzig is a tough place to go so loads of teams would concede chances like Rangers did. I’m sure they will be stronger at home.”
In other news, Ibrox sources have revealed Rangers are set to land a £25mllion-plus windfall.
