Chelsea news: Pundit issues 'unfair' Cesar Azpilicueta claim after 'very rare' sight
Kevin Campbell has claimed “it’s unfair to point the finger” at Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta after Sunday’s defeat at Everton.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said Thomas Tuchel’s side “have not been themselves” in recent weeks.
The Blues slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Azpilicueta was caught in possession by Richarlison in the build-up to the only goal of the game.
The defender also conceded the penalty which led to Arsenal’s winner at Stamford Bridge last month.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Azpilicueta’s form, Campbell said: “Chelsea have dropped a level, if I’m honest with you.

“It’s unfair to just point the finger at Azpilicueta because the whole team have dropped. They have not been themselves.
“It is very rare that you see Chelsea get caught on the ball at the back. Richarlison pressed Azpilicueta so well. He got the block in and Demarai Gray was on cue to set him up for the goal.
“I have not been convinced by this Chelsea side of late. The same thing happened at the back end of last season. They have a few weird results at the end of the season although they went on to win the Champions League.”
The Blues have won just two of their last six Premier League games.
They welcome Wolves to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
