Sources: Aston Villa star Jaden Philogene agrees four-year Hull City deal

Aston Villa winger Jaden Philogene has agreed to join Hull City on deadline day, sources have told Football Insider.

The Tigers have agreed to pay Villa £5million for Philogene and the paperwork for the deal has all been finalised between the two clubs – with the Midlands club including a buy-back clause plus a sell-on clause.

The attacker, 21, has agreed the terms of a four-year contract.

Philogene played one minute for Villa in their season-opening clash against Newcastle but was left out of the next four matchday squads.

The winger has already racked up plenty of games in the Championship and spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Cardiff City.

He made 39 appearances across all competitions for the Bluebirds, notching five goals and one assist.

Philogene showcased his impressive versatility while in Wales, playing on both flanks and in attacking midfield.

The London-born ace also spent the second half of the 2021-22 campaign on loan at Stoke City, scoring once in 11 appearances.

He came through the ranks at Villa but has made just six appearances for the club since making his senior breakthrough.

Unai Emery’s side also sanctioned a similar exit for England Under-21 international Cameron Archer, who has joined Sheffield United with a buy-back clause inserted into the deal.

Hull City have picked up seven points from their opening four Championship games this season under manager Liam Rosenior.

The Tigers have made seven summer signings so far ahead of the window shutting at 11pm on Friday (1 September).
