Sources: Major update today on Chelsea potentially sacking Pochettino
Mauricio Pochettino is not yet under any real sack pressure at Chelsea despite their poor start to the season, sources have told Football Insider.
Scoring goals has been a problem for the Blues in the absence of big-money summer signing Christopher Nkunku.
Results thus far have not been good enough, with Chelsea picking up just five points from a possible 18 in the Premier League this term.
It is believed that all parties, including Pochettino and at the boardroom level, are aware that the London club’s form needs to improve in the coming weeks.
But the project is in place under heavy spending yet again in the summer window, and a well-placed source has told Football Insider that Chelsea’s owners still see Pochettino as someone who can restore them to the top of the table.
Sources say there is “no panic at Stamford Bridge just yet”.

However, results will ultimately dictate the future of Pochettino – who was given an influx of new signings costing a reported £400million in the summer window.
The Argentine signed a contract running until June 2025 when he arrived at Chelsea in the off-season.
But he has failed to hit the ground running at his new club, winning just one of six Premier League games this season.
The Blues’ solitary victory came against Luton, while Pochettino was left rueing his side’s poor finishing in draws against Bournemouth and Liverpool.
Chelsea will not play European football this season after recording a 12th-place finish last term.
Pochettino’s side are next in action against Brighton in the League Cup on Wednesday (27 September), before facing rivals Fulham next Monday (2 October).
