Digne finished at Everton after 'massive' Benitez fallout - pundit
Alan Hutton has admitted Lucas Digne’s “days are numbered” at Everton after the arrival of Vitaliy Mykolenko.
The former Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the fallout between Digne and Rafael Benitez has been “massive”.
As confirmed on Saturday (1 December), Everton have secured Mykolenko’s signing from Dynamo Kyiv.
The Telegraph (1 January) claim the Toffees have spent around £17million on the Ukraine international.
Hutton suggested the “big fee” suggested Mykolenko has not been brought in as backup.
As such, he admitted Digne could be finished at Goodison Park.

Asked what Mykolenko’s arrival means for Digne, Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “That is exactly what I was thinking when it happened.
“It is a big fee for a full-back which makes you think that he is going to come in and play. It seems like the fallout between Rafa and Digne has been massive in terms of everything that is happening.
“He has really been thrown to the side and it looks like he is probably going to leave. There is obviously a lot of interest.
“I still believe he’s a great player with a lot to offer in the modern game.
“There will be a lot of teams looking for his signature. It looks like his days are numbered.”
Digne has not played since the 4-1 defeat to Liverpool at the start of December.
He returned to the bench for the 3-2 loss to Brighton on Sunday (2 January).
The France international has been linked with a host of clubs across the Premier League.
