Danny Mills swipes at Uefa in new claim after 'unsavoury' Man City development
Danny Mills has hit out at Uefa after they fined Man City for their behaviour against Atletico Madrid in last month’s Champions League quarter-final second leg (13 April).
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-City and England defender questioned why Atletico were not punished and insisted the fine was a “token gesture”.
BBC Sport reported earlier this month (13 May) that City have been handed a €14,000 (£11,910) fine for “improper conduct of the team”.
Felipe was sent off towards the end of the 0-0 draw for a foul on Phil Foden that sparked a confrontation involving both sets of players and coaching staff and was continued in the tunnel.
During the commotion, Savic appeared to pull the hair of Jack Grealish who was warming up on the sidelines.
City progressed to the semi-finals but were beaten by Real Madrid in extra time and were denied a place in the final.

“I’m not quite sure what Man City are being punished with if Atletico aren’t being punished,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“We saw the scenes, especially in the tunnel and all that type of thing. It was unsavoury and six of one, half a dozen of the other. Slap a fine on both of them and move on.
“Neither fine is going to damage the club, it’s a token gesture. Just over £10,000, I’m not being funny but that’s in the lads’ ashtrays in their car, it’s down the back of their sofa. It’s an absolute pittance.
“If you spread that amongst the players it’s about £500 each.
“I don’t get it, in any way shape or form. It’s a pointless fine, it really is. Just tokenism.”
