Tottenham news: 'Four top players' set to sign as 'huge' claim issued by pundit

Danny Mills has claimed Tottenham could add “four top players” with their new £150million war chest this summer.

The former England defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed Spurs have a number of “huge incentives” to offer stars – including a “brilliant stadium”, a “great coach”, and the “lure” of Champions League football.

Tottenham announced last week (24 May) that owners ENIC have injected £150million into the club via a share issue in the wake of their top-four finish.

Football Insider revealed on 28 May that Spurs are set to kick off their summer business in the coming days with Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic both set to sign on free transfers.

This site has also detailed (27 May) that Tottenham are set to submit an opening bid for Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni – with the Nerazzuri strapped for cash at present.

Mills claimed Champions League football means Conte’s side can afford to offer “good contracts” at last.

“I think you’re looking at four top players with that sort of money,” he told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley.

“Harry Kane looks like he’s going to stay as well, possibly even sign a new deal.

“But Tottenham can afford to offer good contracts now – and they’ve got the lure of Champions League football.

“European nights at a brilliant stadium, the club is in the heart of London, Conte is a great coach – these are all huge incentives for players – especially foreign ones.

“Even if these players are thinking it’s a stepping stone, it’s not a bad one to take.”
