Liverpool may swoop for Robert Lewandowski amid source's £55m+ reveal - pundit
Liverpool could sign Robert Lewandowski to replace Sadio Mane, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Man City and England defender claimed Liverpool do not have to spend a “huge amount of money” on a Mane replacement.
Fabrizio Romano reported on Monday (6 June) that the 30-year-old is ready to agree personal terms with Bayern Munich but the two clubs have not agreed a fee.
Bayern Munich are in the market for a marquee forward signing after Lewandowski told German outlet Bild on Tuesday (7 June) that “it’s time for a new stage”.
A Liverpool source told Football Insider on Tuesday (7 June) that they are readying an approach for Darwin Nunez who is keen to move to Anfield and is valued at over £55million by Benfica.
Asked whether the Reds need to spend big to replace Mane, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “You’ve got [Mohamed] Salah and [Luis] Diaz, [Diogo] Jota as the number 10, [Roberto] Firmino as that nine-and-a-half.

“There are one or two potential interesting moves. They don’t have to necessarily spend a huge amount of money within that.
“Liverpool’s recruitment has been good, over the past several years. I’m sure they’ve got people lined up to replace him if needs be.
“Maybe that was the thinking when they got Diaz in. They’ve got [Fabio] Carvalho from Fulham, don’t forget. He might be enough with Jota, Firmino and everyone else still in there
“Klopp might not think it’s too much of an issue..”
