Rangers may now sell Joe Aribo as bumper offer suggested - Agbonlahor

Rangers may be forced to sell Joe Aribo this summer, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Aribo may feel he has done as much as he can at Ibrox and may want to try the Premier League.

The Athletic reported last week (3 June) that Crystal Palace are seriously interested in the midfielder, who turns 26 next month, and only has one year left on his Rangers contract.

As quoted by All Nigeria Soccer, via footballscotland earlier this week (6 June), the south Londoner refused to be drawn on speculation over his future.

“It all depends on what the player wants,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“If the player wants to try the Premier League then I’m sure he will want to do it.

“He’s won a title with Rangers, got to the final of the Europa League. Maybe some of these Rangers players might see it as they’ve come as far as they can with Rangers and want to try a different league. You can’t blame him for that.

“We know about the Premier League and the wages. He can earn a lot more than he can in the Scottish Premiership. You can’t blame Aribo.

“He’s proven that he’s a good player and good enough for the Premier League.

“What those Rangers players have done in the Europa League against top teams shows that they have quality.”

Aribo scored nine times and provided 10 assists in 57 games across all competitions for Rangers in the 2021-22 season.

He scored the Gers’ goal in their penalty shootout loss to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final and also started the Scottish Cup final victory over Hearts.

In other news, Rangers have made a move to sign a player and £6million will seal the deal.
