Tottenham told to seal deal for 'hell of a player' after Kessie update from ESPN - Robinson
Paul Robinson has urged Tottenham to agree a deal for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie this month.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one heaped praise on the 25-year-old who Antonio Conte “knows a lot about” from his time at Inter Milan.
Kessie has just six months to run on his deal at the San Siro and is free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club.
According to ESPN‘s James Olley last Friday (31 December), Spurs are set to make the centre-midfielder a lucrative contract offer.
The north London club are said to be willing to trump AC Milan’s £5.4million-a-year offer with chairman Daniel Levy encouraged by the fact no transfer fee will be involved.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the update, Robinson said: “Conte knows a lot about him from his time at Inter Milan.

“Can they get him on a pre-contract ahead of the summer? I hope so.
“It would be a hell of a player to get in early. He is the type of player Spurs need to be looking at in January. A top player who is out of contract in the summer.
“They could get a deal done for him now or if not they can line it up for the summer.
“Kessie is a player Conte knows well and he’d undoubtedly add quality to the squad.”
In other news, Robinson has dropped his verdict on Tottenham replacing Emerson this month after what he’s heard from Conte.
