Arsenal should agree Lacazette deal 'before it's too late' - pundit
Arsenal should offer Alexandre Lacazette a new contract after impressing in recent weeks.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the striker’s return to form.
Lacazette 30, has skippered Arsenal after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was stripped of the captaincy last month (14 December) and has recovered his form.
The striker has scored twice and provided three assists in his last five Premier League starts.
His current contract expires at the end of the season and, as quoted by Sky Sports last month (26 December), Arteta admitted it is causing a “cloud” over the club.
Kenny insists Arsenal should make Lacazette a “very attractive offer” after helping to lead the club in recent weeks.

“Lacazette has come back in out of nowhere,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He’s done a good job in difficult circumstances because we don’t know what is going to happen with Aubameyang.
“The goals have come back and he’s proved he still has it. If Arsenal do let him go there will be plenty of clubs interested.
“But I think the club should make Lacazette a very attractive offer to stay at the club considering his vital role over the last few weeks.
“He’s a top player, we know this. I don’t think he should have been out of the team in the first place.
“I think a new deal is only fair. He’s out of contract in the summer so that needs to be sorted before it’ too late.”
Lacazette has provided three goals and three assists in the league this season.
Those came in 15 appearances.
