Sources: Liverpool could now sign Andre in January after bid rejected
Liverpool have seen multiple bids for Fluminense sensation Andre rejected by the Brazillian club this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Rio de Janeiro-based club are still alive in the Copa Libertadores and are unwilling to sell the 22-year-old central midfielder while they remain in the competition.
Fluminense won the first leg of their quarter-final against Paraguayan outfit Olimpia 2-0 on Friday morning (25 August), with Andre scoring the opening goal.
The second leg will be played in the early hours on 1 September – when the Premier League’s transfer window slams shut.
Fluminense are only willing to sell Andre in January as they look to give themselves the best possible chance of winning the prestigious trophy for the first-ever time.
But Liverpool are keen to rectify their midfield shortcomings as soon as possible and are likely to look elsewhere before the summer window shuts.

Football Insider revealed on Friday (25 August) that Liverpool could now return for £30million-rated Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch with a move for Crystal Palace’s Cheick Doucoure deemed too expensive.
Andre’s crucial goal against Olimpia on Friday was his first of the season in 41 appearances across all competitions.
He has racked up 149 games in total for his boyhood club since making his professional debut in September 2020.
The 22-year-old is under contract at the Maracana until December 2026.
Andre, who was named in the Brazillian Serie A Team of the Year in 2022, made his senior debut for Brazil earlier this year against Senegal.
