West Ham told they can buy international PL striker in January transfer window - report

West Ham have been offered striker Aleksandar Mitrovic by Newcastle United in the January window, according to a report.

The Daily Mail claims that the Magpies have offered the Hammers their striker as they look to offload the out-of-favour star.

However, is also claimed that Moyes is keen to improve his midfield and defence rather than his strike force at the moment.

Mitrovic has made only six appearances in the league for Newcastle United this season and has failed to complete 90 minutes.

The striker has managed to score a goal, ironically against West Ham despite only being on the pitch for 18 minutes.

The Hammers are among the lowest scorers in the Premier League this season, and so it’s odd that Moyes is not keen on signing Mitrovic. While the striker has only grabbed one goal this season, it’s impressive given the lack of minutes he has played. The striker would be eager to impress at the London stadium as he is keen to make Serbia’s World Cup squad in the summer. While the striker does have discipline problems, which were shown in the game against West Ham season as he earned a retrospective ban after that game, it’s still possible the striker could be tamed. Mitrovic also has a great record for his country with 11 goals in 33 games and if Moyes could get him firing in the Premier League he’d be a bargain.
