Pochettino makes honest admission after massive Tottenham blow announced
Tottnenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has given his take on the news that defender Toby Alderweireld will be out of action until February.
The 28-year-old has been ruled out for up to six weeks after undergoing a scan on his hamstring injury. The Belgian international suffered the injury against Real Madrid in the Champions League in early November.
Spurs were hoping the defender would be back for the start of 2018, but he is now set to miss the first month of the New Year. Pochettino gave his verdict on the injury news at his press conference on Tuesday morning.
“Of course we cannot change the reality of his injury, he cannot play until February,” said the Spurs boss, as quoted by football.london.
“With him or without him we win and lose. Of course the manager wants everyone fit to play, all the players.
“You are always going to miss players, but it’s collective.”

The centre-back has been a key player for Pochettino this season and Spurs have really struggled without him, winning just two of their six Premier League matches since he got injured.
Tottenham face consecutive Premier League matches against Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal, followed by the first leg of the Champions League last-16 tie with Juventus, all in the space of two weeks from January 31.
Spurs fans will be hoping Alderweireld can return to action for those fixtures, but he will be a big miss for them over a busy festive period.
Tottenham are now sixth in the Premier League table after their emphatic 5-1 win over Stoke at the weekend and face Brighton in their next game on Wednesday evening.
In other Tottenham news, Spurs fans have reacted to this huge statement from chairman Daniel Levy.
