Everton poised to pounce on Barcelona misfit, big-money move could hasten deal - report
Everton are eyeing a move for Barcelona’s Paco Alcacer with the striker struggling to feature at the Nou Camp, according to a report.
Don Balon reports that the Toffees are considering Alcacer as a replacement for Sandro Ramirez as the striker has only scored one goal in 13 appearances for Everton – Ramirez only moved to the Toffees in the summer.
Everton won’t have it all their own way though, as the same report claims that Valencia have made him a transfer target for the winter window.
Alcacer has scored more goals than Ramirez in less games this season – five in his 10 outings across all competitions for Barcelona.
However, the striker has failed to cement a regular place in the team and Alcacer wants game time in order to make Spain’s World Cup squad in the summer.
A previous report from Spanish publication Sport claimed that Barcelona were willing to let the 24-year-old striker go in January, after seeing himself drop down the pecking order at the Nou Camp.

His position could become even more secure according to Don Balon, who claim that Barcelona are setting up a £40million move for AC Milan striker André Silva.
Football Insider Verdict
Everton have struggled to find someone to replace Romelu Lukaku’s goals since his departure to Manchester United. Ramirez was signed as a potential replacement, but he has failed to score in any of his six league appearances. While it might seem a little unfair to ship him out already, the Toffees need goals sooner rather than later and he isn’t supplying them. Alcacer seems like a good option for Everton, despite his lack of Premier League experience. The striker will be desperate to go to the World Cup after missing out on the Euros, and that would only benefit the Toffees.
