Celtic set to turn down eight-figure Everton bid for 21y/o, player is open to move - report
Celtic are set to reject a £25million bid from Everton for Kieran Tierney, according to a report.
The Sunday Mail claims that the Premier League side are set to making an opening bid of £25million for the 21-year-old, which the Bhoys will reject out of hand.
The report goes on to claim that Tierney would be ‘open’ to making the move to Everton, but that club sources are adamant that will only happen if the price is right.
It claims that it would take an “astronomical” offer for Celtic to sell.
Tierney has been a superstar for the Bhoys since breaking into the first-team in 2015, with the left-back helping the Hoops to back to back domestic trebles.

Celtic fans reading the latest stories about Kieran Tierney won’t be sure what to make of the situation. On the one hand they will be pleased that the club claim to have no need to sell the 21-year-old for £25million, but on the other hand the fact that the player is reportedly ‘open’ to the move is a worrying sign. There is no doubt that Everton seem to be very serious about signing Tierney, and the first bid could be only the start of their pursuit of the left-back. If there turns out to be a bidding war for Tierney, then the Hoops could well be forced into a decision about the player, particularly if the price rockets up to around £30-40million. The Bhoys and Brendan Rodgers would have to think long and hard about selling the Scotland international should that happen, but at the moment it is all speculation as the Bhoys await for the Tierney bids to start to come in.
