West Ham flop set for exit, stumbling block revealed - report

West Ham striker Jordan Hugill is a target for Queens Park Rangers, according to a report.

The Mirror claim via their live transfer blog (10:19) that QPR are hoping to swoop for the former Preston striker on a loan deal this summer.

The report also reveals that Hugill’s wages are too high for most Championship clubs to afford which could jeopardise any potential move.

The 26-year-old joined The Hammers in January but has failed to make an impact at The London Stadium having made just three Premier League appearances for the club so far.

West Ham have got a reputation for making bad decisions in the transfer market and this is just another example. Jordan Hugill is a good player but he’s not been given any chances to make his mark whatsoever. Why on earth would the club spend just over £9million on a player that they’ve got no interest in playing? It smacks of poor organisation behind the scenes and that needs to change before The Hammers can go back to being a Premier League force. It’s not Hugill’s fault that he was given a contract so big that it may put a stop to any potential move, but he desperately needs a loan move in order to get some regular football and get his name back on the scoresheet. This move looks like a sensible one for both the player and club. Hopefully, West Ham can learn from their transfer failures and do their due diligence before spending money on unwanted players this summer.
