'Adamant' - Sutton reveals what Tierney has said about his time at Celtic

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has given his verdict on reports linking Kieran Tierney with a move away from the Hoops, saying the player has always said how happy he is at Celtic.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to Everton, with the Daily Record reporting that the Hoops will knock back a bid of £25million.

Sutton, speaking on his personal Twitter account, reiterated that Tierney has always talked about how happy he is to play for the Hoops.

“KT has always been adamant he is very happy at Celtic” he said.

Tierney has been a huge success for the Hoops since he broke through to the first-team, winning plenty of trophies and being named Scotland’s young player of the year for three seasons in a row.

Chris Sutton can’t really be shocked at the fact that clubs in England want to sign Kieran Tierney, as he has been one of the best players in Britain for at least a year. His superb performances in the Champions League will have no doubt caught the eye of many of the biggest clubs around. Sutton is correct thought that the player has never stated that he wants to leave the club, which throws up the possibility that should the left-back be sold, the Hoops board would get the blame from the support. Even if the Hoops make £30million from the selling of Tierney, fans will be livid that one of their homegrown heroes will be leaving the club. That is no doubt something that Brendan Rodgers and Peter Lawwell will have in mind when it comes to Tierney’s future in Glasgow. Sutton and the support want Tierney to stay, it is up to the club to prove that by rejecting any bids.
