19-year-old defender likely to be shown Rangers exit door after recent development – view

COMMENT

Rangers defender Myles Beerman hasn’t been able to make a permanent breakthrough to the Gers side, after playing seven times towards the end of the 2016-17 season.

Last season the 19-year-old right-back didn’t make any first-team appearances for the Gers, and spent the second-half of last season on loan at Queen of the South.

Beerman’s chances of making the first-team at Ibrox have been reduced even further by the recent signing of Jon Flanagan, who can play at both left and right-back.

With James Tavernier also a right-back at Ibrox, and at the moment the first-pick in the side, it looks like the Malta international’s chances of making the Gers side at all next season are very remote.

With Steven Gerrard looking to move on signings from the Mark Warburton and Pedro Caixinha era who have failed to make much of an impact at Ibrox, Beerman could well be on the list of Gers departures this summer.

If anything the player needs to leave Ibrox for the sake of his own career, as it seems to have stalled dramatically after making the breakthrough under Pedro Caixinha.

With Beerman joining the Gers before the appointment of director of football Mark Allen, perhaps his fate at the club was sealed after he was sent to Queen of the South in January, and it is more then likely his next exit from Ibrox will be a permanent one.
