Rangers expected XI v Hibernian: Senior duo axed after weekend shockers
Rangers interim manager Graeme Murty is expected to make two changes to his starting XI when the Gers take on Hibernian at Easter Road on Wednesday night.
Having had shockers in the win against Ross County on Saturday, senior duo Carlos Pena and Daniel Candeias are likely to be axed from Murty’s side with Jamie Barjonas and Alfredo Morelos replacing them.
The Light Blues restored themselves in second place in the Scottish Premiership with a 2-1 win over Ross Couty – the first time the Gers have won three consecutive games in a year – and closed the gap to leaders Celtic to five points.
Wes Foderingham is expected to keep his place in goal behind a back four of James Tavernier, Bruno Alves, Danny Wilson and Declan John.
Ross McCrorie is expected to shake off an injury which ended his game against Ross County and take his place at the base of Rangers’ midfield diamond.
Jason Holt is likely to be partnered with Jamie Barjonas in the middle of the park after Murty tried Daniel Candeias there at the weekend.

Ahead of them, Kenny Miller could fill the number 10 role with Josh Windass and the returning Morelos leading the line.
Windass has proven to be more effective as a striker and hasn’t really had an opportunity to partner with Morelos.
The Colombian finally ended his barren run of nine games without a goal with the equaliser against Ross County and will be hoping he can find the net again on Wednesday night.
