Everton must successfully convince Lookman of his future during reported talks - opinion

Marco Silva must convince Everton winger Ademola Lookman that his long-term future is at Goodison Park otherwise the new boss’ revolution will already see the club make a huge mistake.
The exciting 20-year-old winger is set to discuss his future at the club this week as Toffees chiefs are going to sit him down and outline Silva’s plans for him, according to the Mirror.
The newspaper claim that Lookman is ready to move on from the club after not getting regular football at Goodison in recent seasons but the club are reluctant to part with him.
However it seems unlikely that the Toffees will force an unhappy 20-year-old to stay given the fee they could sell him for as an unsettled player will never be able to deliver the goods for his side.
The Mirror’s report shares that Tottenham, RB Leipzig and Southampton are all keen to sign Lookman which means the Toffees could rake in a big fee if the 20-year-old forces their hand.

Though that should be the club’s last resort as it would be a huge blunder that they will regret for many years if they let him depart.
The 20-year-old shone while on loan at RB Leipzig in the second half of the 2017/18 campaign, scoring five goals and registering four assists in 11 Bundesliga appearances for them.
Lookman’s ability to skilfully dart past opponents while unleashing his ridiculous pace saw everyone realise what a bright future in football he has.
The Toffees need to ensure that future is with them as under Silva’s care, the winger could easily help the new boss send the Merseyside club flying up the Premier League table next season in order to find themselves back in an European competition in the 2018/19 season.
Therefore Silva better have a worthwhile plan that the Toffees hierarchy are showing Lookman later this week otherwise there will already be some negativity surrounding his reign at the club.
