'Best news ever', 'GOAT' - Some Liverpool fans react to Salah signing new long-term deal

Some Liverpool fans on social media celebrated the news that Mohamed Salah had put pen to paper on a new long-term deal with the club.

The Reds confirmed via their official website on Monday that the 25-year-old winger had committed his future to the club by signing a new long-term contract.

One Reds supporter tweeted that it was the best news ever upon reading that Salah had signed a new deal, while another replied to the club’s official tweet about the news by asking for him to kept at the club until he retires.

Football Insider has rounded up a handful of tweets by Liverpool fans about Salah committing his future:

OPINION

With the Guardian’s report on Salah’s new deal stating that the winger’s new contract doesn’t expire until 2023 then by all means Reds fans should be celebrating the news. While there may be some who are sceptical when a player signs a new deal as sometimes it is done in order to sell him for a big transfer fee in the near future, it is hard to imagine Salah leaving the club. The 25-year-old winger always has a smile on his face when playing for Jurgen Klopp’s side and he is capable of lifting silverware with the Premier League club so doesn’t need to look for a way out anytime soon. Salah scored 44 goals in 52 appearances during his debut season for the club and will no doubt continue scoring in his 2018/19 campaign in order to help his side rack up trophies.
