Owen makes bold prediction for 'fascinating' West Ham v Arsenal clash

Michael Owen predicted that if there’s going to be a winner between West Ham and Arsenal on Wednesday, it will be the Hammers.

In his blog for BetVictor the pundit called the game “fascinating” following West Ham’s shock victory over Chelsea on Saturday and Arsenal’s failure to beat Southampton.

The pundit said he believed Aaron Ramsey’s injury was a blow for the Gunners and that the defensive qualities West Ham showed on Saturday were key to helping him make a prediction.

Owen tipped West Ham double chance as he couldn’t see an Arsenal win despite labeling them “desperate” to get back to winning ways.

“Arsene Wenger must do without the injured Aaron Ramsay, which is a blow to the Gunners, and I was taken with the Hammers spirit and defensive qualities against Chelsea. If there is to be a winner midweek, I think it will be the hosts,” Owen said.

If the Hammers were to defeat Arsenal it would be David Moyes’ second victory as West Ham manager.

The three points could also see the Hammers move out of the relegation zone if West Bromwich Albion don’t match their result.

Last season, Arsenal comfortably beat the Hammers in both league meetings, defeating them 5-1 and 3-0.

In other West Ham news, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has criticised the club after their surprise 1-0 victory over Chelsea on Saturday.
