Scots pundit on sensational Brendan Rodgers return as Celtic footage emerges online
Brendan Rodgers won’t be the top target to replace Ange Postecoglou at Celtic.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers defender Alan Hutton said Rodgers will still be “under a cloud” in the minds of Hoops fans.
The Scottish Champions confirmed that treble winning manager Ange Postecoglou has left the club to take over at Tottenham after an incredible two years at the club.
The Australian took over at the Glasgow giants after an incredibly disappointing season and turned them back into title winners within his first season.
The Hoops’ next appointment is crucial to maintain Postecoglou’s hard work and former boss Brendan Rodgers is one of the names tipped to replace him.
As shown on Twitter (5 June), an interview clip has resurfaced where Rodgers admitted he would return to Parkhead with “absolutely no hesitation”.

But Hutton insisted the Northern Irishman will not be the first choice.
“I think he will be on the list but I can’t imagine him being the top target,” he told Football Insider.
“The way he left Celtic, under a bit of a cloud, is not ideal and a lot of fans, it will still hurt a little bit.
“Although he was very successful, he had a great team there, he knows the club inside out and could probably hit the ground running.
“Whether he wants to take time out and then assess his options. But it is another great opportunity to manage a team that is going to be in the Champions League.
“I think there will be others that will be ahead of him at this moment in time.“
