Sources: Chelsea may offer £30m-valued star in part-exchange for Moises Caicedo
Chelsea could include defender Levi Colwill in a player-plus-cash deal for Brighton midfield star Moises Caicedo, sources have told Football Insider.
This site revealed on Monday (5 June) that the Blues are set to step up their interest in Caicedo, 21, after a move for Sporting CP star Manuel Ugarte fell through.
It is believed Brighton will demand a fee of between £80-85million for the Ecuador international after he signed a fresh four-year contract at the Amex Stadium in March.
Caicedo is also the subject of interest from Arsenal, Liverpool and Man United – with Brighton reportedly rejecting a £70million bid from the Gunners in the final throes of the January window.
Meanwhile, the Seagulls have expressed an interest in signing £30million-rated Colwill permanently following his successful loan on the south coast in the 2022-23 campaign.
Football Insider revealed on 27 May that Brighton are exploring a potential deal and believe they have a chance of landing the defender – despite Chelsea issuing a “hands-off warning”.
