Revealed: West Ham land £65m guaranteed windfall - more is on the way

West Ham have landed £65million in Uefa payouts since 2021 following their historic Europa Conference League triumph, Football Insider analysis shows.

The Hammers ended their 43-year wait for a major trophy as Jarrod Bowen scored a last-minute goal on Wednesday night to beat Fiorentina and win the Europa Conference League 2-1 in Prague.

The final triumph secured West Ham an extra £4.3m in prize money from Uefa and brought to an end a remarkable and lucrative campaign.

It took their total earnings from the Conference League to £17.25m for the season and also ensured qualification for next season’s Europa League.

Analysis conducted by Football Insider based on official Uefa data shows that West Ham would trouser at least £19.7m from participation in the Europa League in 2023-24.

With performance-related bonuses taken into account, that figure could rise substantially, just as it did when they reached the semi-finals in 2021-22.

They banked £27.75m before they were eventually beaten over two legs by Eintracht Frankfurt, who went on to lift the trophy in Seville.

That means that the club’s takings from European football since 2021 will total a guarantee £64.7m before a ball is even kicked in next season’s campaign.

The £65m sum across the three campaigns does not include matchday revenue from home games at the London Stadium or commercial spin-offs and other endorsements.

The extra cash would also bolster the Hammers’ transfer budget this summer following their record-breaking spree in the summer of 2022.
