Sources: Major Darwin Nunez update ahead of Liverpool clash v Wolves tonight
Darwin Nunez will be included in the Liverpool squad to face Wolves at Anfield this evening after proving his fitness, sources have told Football Insider.
The Uruguayan came through training unscathed on Tuesday afternoon and is set to provide a major boost to Jurgen Klopp’s attacking options when they host Julen Lopetegui’s side.
Nunez missed out on the Reds’ 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace last Saturday as a result of a shoulder injury sustained against Newcastle seven days earlier.
He had featured in the starting lineup for a Champions League defeat by Real Madrid in midweek with the aid of a painkilling injection but suffered a setback in the form of a further blow to the problem area in that game.
After leaving the forward out at Selhurst Park at the weekend, Klopp told reporters: “It was okay with an injection against Madrid, because there’s no structural damage – it’s very painful.
“But he got another knock there and the day after the Madrid game he couldn’t move the arm at all.

“We have to see how long that will take, but that was the reason for him [not playing].”
The German played his cards close to his chest at his pre-Wolves press conference on Tuesday, insisting he would “have to see” how Nunez reacted following his return to training on Monday.
But it is understood that the 23-year-old suffered no ill effects from his involvement in two Kirkby sessions and will be part of the squad at Anfield.
It remains to be seen whether Klopp opts to throw his big-money striker straight back into the starting XI, with Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino both available again after their own recent injury problems.
Cody Gakpo, meanwhile, is on a run of 10 consecutive starts for the club since making a January move from PSV Eindhoven.
