Sources: Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea face paying 'huge' Moises Caicedo fee after agreement reached
Moises Caicedo’s new Brighton contract does not contain a release clause as his suitors Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea face paying a huge fee to land him this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
It was announced on Friday that the Ecuadorian had extended his deal with the Seagulls, putting pen to paper on terms running until 2027 with a club option for an extra year.
It is understood that Caicedo has secured a major pay rise more accurately reflecting his value to Brighton, but that no concessions were made regarding any potential release clause.
That is something of a surprise following a January window in which the 21-year-old was the subject of major interest.
Arsenal had several bids for the midfielder rejected before conceding that he was not for sale and signing Jorginho from London rivals Chelsea.
The Blues were themselves interested, but ultimately bolstered their midfield with the signing of Enzo Fernandez from Benfica.

And Liverpool are also known to have tracked Caicedo closely since his career began with Independiente del Valle in his native Ecuador.
However, if any of those clubs wish to tempt the midfielder away from the south coast this summer, they are likely to have to now stump up a huge fee.
Brighton CEO Paul Barber stood firm in the face of Arsenal’s interest in January, publicly questioning their willingness to meet the club’s asking price.
He was later withdrawn from training with the first-team squad until the winter window had passed without a move materialising.
“I am proud to be able to bring in a record transfer fee for Brighton which would allow them to reinvest it and help the club continue to be successful,” Caicedo wrote on social media.
“The fans have taken me into their hearts and they will always be in my heart, so I hope they can understand why I want to take up this magnificent opportunity.”
