Sources: Everton plan to terminate Dele Alli deal
Everton midfielder Dele Alli’s loan move to Besiktas won’t be made permanent this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
He could be set for a double blow with the Merseysiders likely to terminate his contract and pay him up rather than keep him in the squad for another year.
The 26-year-old joined the Turkish giants on a season-long deal in August after being told he was no longer part of then-Toffees boss Frank Lampard’s plans.
It was hoped that a change of scenery might help reignite the career of a player who has lost his way since starring for Tottenham in his early 20s.
However, after impressing early on by getting on the scoresheet in just his second start for Besiktas, Alli‘s form has once again spiralled.
The midfielder has struggled for consistent minutes since Senol Gunes replaced Valierien Ismael in the role of manager in October.

He was consigned to the bench for a four-game stint around the turn of the year and, despite briefly reclaiming his place, has been banished from the squad entirely for the last two matches, with reports in Turkey suggesting he may not get a reprieve.
Consequently, Football Insider understands Besiktas do not plan to exercise the £6.9m permanent clause in Alli’s loan at the end of this season.
Gunes hinted at a parting of ways following a recent 0-0 draw with Antalyaspor, saying: “Alli did not add the efficiency we thought of as a game. We work physically and tactically.
“Alli played in two friendly matches. He did positive things. He runs a lot, but he has problems in assisting and scoring goals.
“He also ran today, but he did not contribute. He is a player with a high probability of leaving at the end of the year, whether he plays well or badly.”
Alli’s return from Besiktas is likely to leave Everton with little choice but to pay up the remainder of his contract this summer.
The deal to bring him from Tottenham on a free transfer contained clauses that could have seen the Toffees shelling out as much as £40m.
However, rather than allow for any of those performance-related bonuses to be triggered next term, the cheaper option would be to pay off the remainder of a deal that runs until 2024.
