Revealed: Sean Dyche lands £3m Everton payout

Everton have paid Sean Dyche a £3million bonus for preserving their Premier League status this season, Football Insider can reveal.

The Toffees survived the drop on the final day of the season with Abdoulaye Doucoure scoring in a 1-0 win over Bournemouth to secure safety ahead of Leicester City and Leeds United.

Dyche negotiated the mega payout as a clause to be included in his contract when he signed for the club in January.

The seven-figure survival bonus is believed to be large even by Premier League standards.

It is understood that the £3million bonus paid to Dyche is in addition to his lucrative salary worth around £5million per year.

Dyche took charge of 18 Premier League games as manager of the Toffees and ended the season with a win rate of 27.8 per cent after winning five, drawing six and losing seven.

His tenure in charge of Everton started brilliantly with a 1-0 win over league leaders Arsenal in his first match, although it was followed by a 2-0 loss in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool.

Everton is only Dyche’s third managerial job of his career, with his previous stints coming at Watford in 2011-12 and a 10-year spell at Burnley between 2012 and 2022.

The Toffees sat 19th in the table when Dyche joined with 15 points in their first 20 games – they ended the season with 36 points on the board in 17th.
