Mac Allister agrees Liverpool deal after breakthrough - sources
Alexis Mac Allister has agreed to join Liverpool from Brighton this summer after a breakthrough in talks, sources have told Football Insider.
The Merseysiders have secured an agreement in personal terms with the World Cup winner, 24, and are finalising a fee of around £60million with the south-coast club.
Mac Allister has made up his mind to make what will be a box-office move to Anfield after bidding a tearful farewell to Brighton fans in the afterward of their Premier League clash at Aston Villa last Sunday.
It is believed that Liverpool have met with Mac Allister’s representatives and reached an agreement on a contract worth more than £150,000-a-week.
The Argentina international currently earns a reported £50,000-a-week wage on a deal running until June 2025.
A well-placed Reds source has suggested the transfer is now “99% done” and there are now only the formalities to complete.
