Sources: Everton international set to leave after contract talks collapse
Everton are resigned to losing promising youngster Isaac Price this summer after failing to tie him down to a new deal, sources have told Football Insider.
The 19-year-old is into the final two months of the first professional Toffees contract he signed in September 2020.
Negotiations over an extension have thus far proved fruitless and, with time running out, the chances of an agreement being reached are understood to be negligible.
Belgian giants Standard Liege are believed to be monitoring developments and would only need to pay a nominal compensation fee in order to secure Price’s services.
The midfielder made his Premier League debut for Everton as they were beaten 5-1 by Arsenal on the final day of last season.
However, he has failed to add to his tally of two senior appearances this term despite recently receiving recognition at full international level.

Price debuted for Northern Ireland in a Euro 2024 qualifier against San Marino in March, appearing as a substitute as his country won 2-0.
Manager Sean Dyche was asked about Price’s contract situation last month and said: “I’ve not really spoken to him.
“I speak to all the players around the training ground and he put a big shift in last week, physically. He got a bit of a knock but it was nothing serious.
“He’s a good young player. I’m new to the young group, I’ve been to one game and got clips from other games. We’re trying to pick up young players as we go. he’s been training with the group quite a lot since I’ve been here and he looks like a good prospect.
“[His contract is] just ongoing discussions because I’m pretty new to it really, here I mean. Chatting to the right people at the right time and see how it develops.
“Over the next few weeks, we’ll look at it more deeply and in more detail. All the players know their situation.”
Meanwhile, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is closer than ever to an Everton comeback with his return date set.
