Tottenham tipped for January Conor Gallagher bid after source's £40m reveal - expert
Tottenham could attempt to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea in January.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Spurs defender Alan Hutton said if Gallagher doesn’t get the game time he is looking for between now and the winter window, there could be an opportunity for Ange Postecoglou’s side to secure a deal.
Last week (4 September), Football Insider revealed that the Lilywhites saw a £40million deadline-day offer for the 23-year-old rejected.
Spurs had been trailing Gallagher all summer and held extensive talks with Chelsea over a potential deal but an agreement could not be reached for the player who is valued at £45m by his parent club.
Gallagher has started all four of the Blues’ Premier League fixtures this term and captained the side in their League Cup win over AFC Wimbledon last month.
When asked if Spurs could reattempt to sign the midfielder in January, Hutton told Football Insider: “We will have to wait and see what his playing time is like at Chelsea.

“We are looking at, when all fit, a very healthy and large squad so it depends how Pochettino sees him and uses him.
“Does he see him as a regular starter? Or is he more of a squad player? If that is the case then come January he may be looking to get out and play football.
“I think whoever gets him is getting a fantastic footballer at a very good age. He will cost a few quid but I think if Tottenham could get him he makes their squad better.“
