Rangers expert digs at Scotland fans after 'big uproar' over training ground
Scotland fans have no right to be annoyed about Rangers allowing England to use their Auchenhowie training base.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers defender Alan Hutton can’t understand the “big uproar” around the England national squad using Auchenhowie to train ahead of last night’s (12 September) friendly match between Scotland and England.
Earlier this week (10 September), the Three Lions took to Twitter to share that they would be used the Gers’ training ground ahead of the 150th Anniversary Heritage match.
The news caused uproar among Scotland fans who felt betrayed by one of the country’s biggest clubs allowing their national rivals to make use of their facilities.
But Hutton couldn’t understand the annoyance from the Tartan Army.
“I do not see the problem,” he told Football Insider.

“It happens all over the world whether you are Scotland going somewhere else, in the past I have used other team’s training facilities, it makes no difference to me.
“Just because England is going there does not mean there should be a big uproar. They have to train somewhere, if it is not at Hampden or lesser Hampden it has to be somewhere else.
“I do not really see the big deal about it if I am quite honest.“
Scotland went on to lose Tuesday’s friendly match 3-1 to their rivals.
The loss came after Scotland all but secured their place in the Euro 2024 group stages with a 3-0 win over Cyprus on Friday (8 September).
