Michael Beale is feeling the heat at Rangers and 'everybody knows' - Hutton

Rangers fans will pile the pressure on Michael Beale if they do not beat Real Bets in Thursday (21 September).

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers defender Alan Hutton said Sunday’s win over St Johnstone eased Beale’s worries but not getting a result against Betis will put him right back in the firing line.

The Light Blues take on the Spanish side in the first game of their Europa League group stage campaign after dropping out of the Champions League with a second leg hammering by PSV Eindhoven.

Betis are currently tenth in La Liga with seven points from their opening five matches whilst Rangers remain fourth in the Scottish premiership with nine points.

Beale has come under serious pressure in recent weeks following their Champions League exit and a defeat to Celtic in the first Old Firm of the season at Ibrox.

When asked if the game against Real Betis comes with an expectation of victory given that it is being played at Ibrox, Hutton told Football Insider:I think it does.

I think everybody knows that in football you have to win your home games especially in European competitions if you want to get through to the next stage.

“It will be one of the tougher tests but it is nice to start at home.

I am interested to see how they approach it because Michael Beale knows that he has been under pressure. I think the St Johnstone win eases that but he will know that within European competitions he will have to get off to a good start.
