Celtic desperately miss Ange Postecoglou after what Hutton spotted

Brendan Rodgersstyle blamed for Celtic defeat against Feyenoord in their Champions League opener.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers defender Alan Hutton suggested that had Ange Postecoglou been in charge in Rotterdam on Tuesday night (19 September), the Hoops would have been able to get a result.

Celtic suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Feyenoord in the opening game of their Champions League group stage campaign.

Despite putting up a fight for the majority of the first 45, a goal on the stroke of half time put the Celts on the back foot heading into the second half.

Two red cards and a second goal in the final 30 minutes made it a disappointing night for Rodgers’ side.

Hutton suggested that had Postecoglou still been at the helm last night it could have been a different story.

I think if it was an Ange team playing last night they would have gotten more opportunities because they would have pressed high and been more aggressive,” he told Football Insider.

I think Feyenoord took risks also and it was very close at times so Celtic were unlucky not to nick it.

I think if it was an Ange team they would be all out pressing, they would be aggressive, they would have got more opportunities. There is some tough tests coming up for Celtic now.

The Hoops travel to Livingston on Saturday (23 September) before welcoming Lazio to Parkhead on 4 October.
