Rangers exclusive: Alan Hutton reacts to Michael Beale sacking
The Rangers performance against Aberdeen was the final nail in the coffin for Michael Beale.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers defender Alan Hutton wasn’t surprised to see Beale getting the chop following Saturday’s (30 September) 3-1 defeat to the Dons.
On 1 October, Rangers confirmed that the 43-year-old has been relieved of his duties as manager, citing that results have fallen short of what is expected at the football club.
Beale joined the Gers in November last year after a five month stint in charge of Queens Park Rangers where he won just nine of the 22 games where he was at the helm.
The Englishman previously turned down the vacant Wolves position whilst he was still at QPR and insisted he was committed to the Championship club before joining Rangers following Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s sacking shortly after.
When asked what he made of the news that Beale had been sacked, Hutton told Football Insider: “I was not surprised.

“You could hear the boos that have been going around the stadium even when they have been winning. The performances have not been good enough and the fans want more from the players.
“The performance against Aberdeen was not great even though they had chances, the result was ultimately going to mean the end to Michael Beale.“
