Hutton suggests how Rangers stars will react to rookie Steven Davis taking over
Steven Davis will be a success when he takes over as interim Rangers boss.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers defender Alan Hutton insisted the players will all get behind Davis because of his legendary status at the club.
Michael Beale was relieved of his duties following a 3-1 defeat to Aberdeen on Saturday (30 September) which came after a string of disappointing performances.
The Gers confirmed (1 October) that former player and club legend Davis will take over as interim manager and be joined by a team of backroom staff including Alex Rae, Steven Smith, Brian Gilmour, and Colin Stewart.
Hutton insisted the 38-year-old will be a big success during his brief spell in charge.
“He knows what it is all about to play for Rangers,” he told Football Insider.

“The pressure that he has obviously been put under and now as interim manager. He will know what he is stepping into, it is definitely a hot seat but I think the fans will get behind him.
“He is one of their own, he has been a leader and he has spoken in the past about how he wants to be a manager and he said himself this was too hard to turn down.
“It is going to be difficult but I think the players will want to give him everything, they know all about him. The experience he has had, the managers he has played under, he can pull on all that experience to hopefully turn this around.“
